Foundation Work Programme
The Skills Centre PLUS Programmes are designed to develop life skills with young people with a learning difficulty and/or disability and prepare them for sustainable, paid employment by equipping them with the skills and experience needed for work.
The Programme
PLUS are offering 1:1 sessions for vulnerable learners. The sessions will be personalised and bespoke to each learner. Examples are:
- Practical activity - utilising industry standard workshops / salons, covering aspects of Engineering, Motor Vehicle, Construction, Painting and Decorating, Craft Skills, Woodwork, Photography, Horticulture and Hair and Beauty
- Progression support – including progressions to the Supported Internship Programme
- We also include career planning with one of our Job Coaches and Mentors
A progress diary will be completed for each session that a learner attends and include evidence of activities they engaged with.
